Exam Structure:
- Two papers:
- English (90 minutes, 100 marks)
- Subject-specific (Environmental Science, 120 minutes, 100 marks)
English Paper (100 marks):
- Essay (500-520 words): 40 marks
- Letter (200-220 words): 30 marks
- Precis Writing (120 words): 30 marks
Subject-Specific Paper (Environmental Science, 100 marks):
- Section 1: Objective (50 marks, 30 minutes):
- 50 MCQ questions with 5 options each
- 1/4 negative marking
- Section 2: Subjective (50 marks, 90 minutes):
- Two 15-mark questions (choose any 2 from 3 Qs)
- Two 10-mark questions (choose any 2 from 3 Qs)
- Total Marks: 200 (100 English + 100 Subject-Specific)

NABARD Grade A Mains Exam for Assistant Manager in Environmental Science Engineering:
English Paper:
- Article (500 words): Youth’s role in education entrepreneurship and social activities.
- Letter: Municipal poor road conditions. (200 – 220 words)
- Precis: Ethiopia’s water conservation mission. (120 words)
Environment:
MCQs:
- 2-mark questions (20): Passage-based questions on types of energy (tidal energy) and types of forests, ecological interactions (competition, mutualism), and biodiversity hotspots. (3 -4 Qs from each passage). 5 – 6 direct analytical MCQ.
- 1-mark questions (10): Fact-based questions on topics like AQI categories, natural World Heritage sites, water hardness (temporary hardness due to which ion , disease due to silica etc.
Descriptive
- Global warming, greenhouse gases, and ozone depletion: How does India affect these issues, and how can we mitigate them? (15 marks, 600 words)
- Air pollutants dispersion, smog: Provide examples. (15 marks, 600 words)
- BOD and COD: Explain these terms and their significance in water quality assessment. (15 marks, 600 words)
10 marks, 400 words Questions
- Types of energy: Renewable and non-renewable energy, limitations of renewable energy.
- EPA, water, and air acts: How do these laws improve the environment? What are their objectives?
- Soil pollution: Discuss the causes and effects.
